How To Create A Bath Gift Basket

Remodel Your Bathroom

What can you give to the person who seems to have everything? Put your creativity to work and present them with a bath gift basket! Everyone takes a bath or shower at least once a day, and people always appreciate receiving a present. The items you choose will not only be useful, but will make them think of you fondly every time the grateful recipient uses them.

It's a lot more fun to make a bath gift basket yourself than it is to buy one that is ready-made. It's easy, too. Choosing the items yourself allows you to personalize the basket for the lucky person who is receiving the gift.

What Items You Can Include

To start, think about all the items that are used in the bath. Soap, shampoo, and conditioner are no-brainers. How about body butter, body cream, body lotion, body wash and/or shower cream, bubble bath, fragrances, foot lotions and creams, foot treatments, hand lotions and creams, hand soap, hand treatments, body scrubs and polishes, shower gels, three-in-one body wash, bubble bath and shampoos, hair removers, powders, and let's not forget robes and wraps and socks and slippers.

As you can see, there is plenty to choose from in creating a bath gift basket!

Choosing The Container

Next, you need to decide what sort of gift container would be appropriate for your gift. Though it's called a "gift basket", the container doesn't have to actually be a basket! You could use any sort of plastic container or bowl, a small bucket, or, if you are making some lucky person a really big bath gift basket, try a wicker laundry basket!

You'll need something to line the basket with. Try tissue paper in colors that blend in with the products you are giving, shredded paper, again in a pretty color, or Easter basket grass. You can use the same items as filler for spots in the gift basket that just seem to need a "little something". If you really want to get creative, use bath oil beads as a bath gift basket liner. They come in bright, vivid colors, and look a little like jewels. They would be perfect, and your gift recipient could make good use of them, too.

Now, you will want something to wrap the gift basket to help hold the items in place, and make the gift basket have a finished look. While some people use a large piece of tulle netting, cellophane or plastic wrap is perfect for this use. You can choose from clear or colored wrap, which you should be able to easily find in craft or party stores.

A pretty bow should top off the bath gift basket. You can either buy or make a bow, but make sure it's a nice, big bow so it will show up nicely.

Putting It All Together

It's time to put your gift basket together. Assemble all the bath items that are going into the basket, plus your liner, filler, wrapping paper and bow. Line the basket first, then add the filler . This helps your items show up better, as you can stagger the heights of the filler so that some smaller items you may choose to put in front will show up better. Or, you may want to save back a couple of special, smaller items, and sort of hide them in the back of the basket. Generally though, place the larger items in the back of the basket, and the small ones in front.

Arrange the filled basket in the center of a large piece of cellophane. Bring the wrap up over the top of the basket, fastening it firmly with a small rubber band. Then, attach your bow. Once you have tucked a gift card into the bow, the basket is ready for presentation.

Bath gift baskets are as fun to make as they are to give... or receive!
