Bathroom Partitions For The Master Bath
A bathroom partition could be just the thing your master bathroom needs if it is a bit on the small side. Why a partition? You would really be surprised at how much this one simple addition can improve the layout of your bathroom. Bathroom partitions often can make the room appear larger, and reinforce a sense of privacy.
Most master bedrooms are designed so that you can see the bathroom from the bedroom, which is not always aesthetically pleasing. The two rooms seem to open into each other, especially if there is no bathroom door.
Get The Toilet Out Of Sight
Once you walk through the bathroom door, your eyes are immediately drawn to the toilet. Anyone who may be sitting on the toilet when you innocently walk in will lose their privacy instantly. The toilet should definitely be out of sight of the bathroom entrance. A bathroom partition is a reasonably priced way to accomplish this.
How about the couple who, because of their job schedules, must go to bed and get up at different times? Without a partition to visually separate parts of the room from each other, they will disturb each other getting dressed and undressed. The same goes for the his and hers vanities that are common in master bathrooms... even small ones. If they were separated by a partition, each person would have their own little private area in which to take care of their personal grooming.
Privacy
Togetherness is a good thing, but sometimes it's nice to take a bath or shower and not feel exposed to others. A partition around this area of the master bath would afford the luxury of a few private moments for a nice quick shower, or a longer time for a relaxing soak.
What Are The Choices?
The partitions can be made out of many different materials. Frosted glass blocks, painted wood, even colored Plexiglass has been used to create separate sections for privacy.
Another way to create a bathroom partition would be to install a sliding or louvered door at the bathroom entrance. This can be left open, or closed when privacy is wanted.
Room dividers can be placed at strategic points in the bedroom and also as bathroom partitions. Oriental room dividers are great for this. They have beautiful colors and designs, and would add quite a bit to the room's decor.
Divider
A room divider could be used in the master bath to create a dressing area, a makeup area complete with a small dressing table, or positioned around the toilet for an inexpensive yet functional bathroom divider.
A half wall can also be constructed to serve as a bathroom partition around the toilet area. Covered with ceramic tile, or painted to match the rest of the bathroom, this is another efficient way to provide privacy.
Bathroom partitions are easy to install temporarily or permanently. They are a good way of assuring that two people who share the same space can each have their own area of privacy when needed. Everyone deserves a little privacy now and then!
